Net World Sports Exceed the Boundary and Score a Century

9 Nov , 2018

What a couple of months we’ve had! Not only have we been shortlisted for 10 awards and won our first ever international trophy, we also reached 100 members of staff…

Everyone here at Net World Sports has had cause to celebrate this quarter as we have been announced finalists for seven prestigious national awards and three regional awards including; Lloyds Bank National Business Awards 2018, the UK Business Awards 2018 and Wales Fast Growth 50, not to mention being presented the Gold Stevie Award for ‘Fastest-Growing Company of the Year – in Europe’!

Within the space of three months, we have been shortlisted for countless national awards which celebrate the exceptional performance of businesses across the country, with thousands of companies entering a range of hotly contested categories to win a place at the finals.

Having demonstrated consistent growth and strong financial performance across the board, we also received our very first worldwide award win at the 15th annual International Business Awards, taking home a Gold Stevie for ‘Fastest-Growing Company of the Year’ and ranking alongside the likes of DHL, UKFast, Skyscanner and Twinings Tea. This was the first international award we had ever applied for too, making the win that much sweeter…

We’re in the midst of different members of the team getting suited and booted to attend the impressive award ceremonies so make sure you keep an eye out on our social media channels to find out how we get on!

The awards weren’t our only cause of celebration as we reached a massive milestone in Net World Sports’ history and became a 100 strong team! As a rapidly expanding business we knew this day would come, but had never imagined it would happen nine years after becoming a limited company when our team was just made up of our founder, Alex, and his dad, Per.

In the last 12 months alone, we have employed more than 60 people, increasing our headcount by a third in less than a year and we’re forecasting that this number will keep growing as we continue our mission of becoming the world’s best sports equipment retailer.

With Ken Skates, the Welsh Labour AM for Clwyd South & Cabinet Secretary for Economy & Transport visiting our site to learn more about our operation and future plans, we thought what better way to mark the occasion of reaching 100 staff than with big group photo…

Despite numerous fresh faces around the office, we’re still on the lookout for a number of new recruits to join our multi-award-winning team. From German and Italian Translators in its content department to positions in customer care, logistics, website development and purchasing, we’re hiring for roles in virtually all departments.  If you’re looking for a change and want to work in a fast paced, rapidly expanding business, take a look at our careers page here.
