Why Your School Should Sign Up

More Than Just Equipment

For every Starter Pack purchased, Basketball Wales will arrange a visit to your school from one of our Participation and Inclusion Officers or a qualified local coach. As part of the visit, they will deliver either a lunchtime or after-school basketball coaching session, helping pupils get active, develop new skills and enjoy the game.

In addition, your school’s PE or basketball coordinator will receive access to a dedicated online portal containing:

• Coaching videos.
• Lesson plans.
• Practical teaching resources.
• Direct access to a dedicated Basketball Wales primary school coaching specialist, who will support the development of basketball within your school.

Ongoing support will help your school create basketball opportunities for pupils across all primary age groups.

Basketball is a fantastic way to engage pupils through the principles of the Sport Wales Foundations Framework. By focusing on safety, enjoyment and development, the programme aims to help children aged 3–11 build a lifelong love of sport and physical activity.

When your school purchases a Starter Pack, the contact details provided with the order will be shared with the Basketball Wales Schools Officer. They will contact you directly to arrange your school visit and explain the additional support available.
